Since its establishment,
based on the motto of providing legal consultation and handling legal
matters for both legal entities and individuals in response to the desires
and needs of the clients in the various fields of law, Oh-Ebashi has endeavored
to increase its ability to be responsive both with knowledge and practical
experience in all areas of the law.
Beginning with Osaka,
the Kansai region has long been the center of vigorous commercial
activity for all manner of manufacturing and commercial enterprises, which
have, in connection with globalization, greatly expanded the scope of
their activities to North America and Europe, and more recently to Asian
countries, particularly China. This type of flow of goods and personnel
has given rise to new legal problems concerning economic activities, which
in turn, has created a demand for a corresponding shift from “after
the fact” solutions to “beforehand” preventive measures.
Based on this recognition, Oh-Ebashi has, since its establishment, handled
not only domestic legal matters but international legal matters, namely
services for foreign affairs, positively as well in order to respond to
the requests of various clients. These days, since global business and
organizational restructuring routinely and extensively result in legal
problems related to economic laws, centering on and extending to the antitrust
laws of Japan, the United States and Europe, companies with global operations
increasingly desire a prompt and unified response for legal issues which
may arise simultaneously in Japan and abroad.
In order to be able to respond to these needs, Oh-Ebashi has strived
since its early days to assemble a legal network capable of effectivelyresponding
to legal requests which may arise in any country or region in the
world in a manner suited to the nature of the particular legal problem
by dispatching many of Oh-Ebashi’s attorneys to the United States,
Europe and China as exchange students for research and training purposes
while at the same time welcoming foreign qualified lawyers and foreign
lawyers qualified in Japan, as well as through continuous intercourse with
law firms in all major global regions, including Africa and South America.
Up through the present, Oh-Ebashi has responded to the legal requests
of enterprises and organizations of every type in every field, without
regard to the size of such enterprise or organization, including manufacturers,
private entities belonging to the tertiary industries, such as information,
communications, construction, real estate, energy, software, mass communications,
distribution and trading, theme and amusement parks, as well as local
public bodies and their affiliated organizations. In addition, Oh-Ebashi
has responded to the legal needs of financial institutions, such as banks,
as well as finance-related entities, such as those dealing with securities,
insurance, capital funds, and venture capitalists.
