Pro Bono Activities
Based on our mission to protect basic human rights and realize social
justice, we take seriously our responsibilities to faithfully perform our
duties and work for maintenance of social order and improvement of the legal
system (Article 1 of Attorneys Law), and are actively involved in pro bono
services such as various activities organized by the Japan Federation of
Bar Association and local bar associations, legal consultation services
provided by bar associations or local governments, activities as defense
counsel appointed by the bar association or the court, legal aid activities,
cooperation with universities or law schools for practical legal education,
cooperation with governments and government-affiliation corporations for
various researches and proposal of political measures, and support for development
of the legal systems in developing countries.
